It was time for some clichés so we went to the Kodak Theatre and checked out the famous boulevard with all the crazy tourists. Then we drove up Mullholland Drive and made a stop at the Runyon Canyon Park that you might know from all those nice magazines like Intouch, Life&Style etc. Sevda is sure we passed Moby. The ride down was awesome and almost makes us want to stay here. We will see! Tomorrow a storm will strike Los Angeles so we head for Las Vegas early in the morning.

Today we went downtown Los Angeles and visited the Upper Playground Store/Gallery as well as the Last Laugh Store by Estevan Oriol. It was fun to see all those familiar things I worked with for years. Just right outside the Fashion District we had a great breakfast. I guess the coffee decoration is an art of itself! Even though LA seems like a rough place, the flava is incredible. After that we went back to Hollywood where we stopped at Fairfax Avenue with all the streetwear shops and the brand’s flagship-stores. This place really is a mecca for me regarding stuff to buy. All those fine t-shirts make me wanna go nuts. Sevda does not find anything but lipstick and nail-polish at Sephora, what a surprise!

Yesterday we went back to Venice beach to catch some more of the great vibe over there. This is one of the skate-spots that I have always wanted to visit. Too bad I haven’t touched my board since a few years back. And hell yeah, now we know where the architects of Central Park on Sankt Pauli in Hamburg got their inspiration from! The hills are just the same as the waves and you got your palm to sit under. The kind of people are the same! Check our pics from last year here. Just realized in that old post that we always complain over cold winters. Maybe it’s time to move to a warmer place?

Shopping in L.A. is not so my thing. I don’t know why, but I didn’t find anything. Ok, that’s not really true because we we were at “Opening Ceremony“, but THAT’s a different story! Believe me, just go in if you have a golden credit card. I fell in love with close to everything. A nice shop that is more like an apartment. In every room another concept. SOOOO nice! Melrose Ave was more la la. A lot of vintage stores but totally overpriced. “Urban Outfitters” has a much better selection in Hamburg. We found a lot of the well known streetcar shops like “Stüssy” and “UNDFTD“. I found some sneakers that I liked. And yes, finally we went to “Fatbeats“. At the end there was a big burger waiting for Philipp at Norman’s. He got it for being so patient at “Opening Ceremony” and hell yeah, it was a big one!
Yesterday it was time to take the Highway 1 up north and check out Malibu. The beach was great and the houses were awesome. If you find the paparazzi in one of the photos you get a big applause. There was this one guy on the beach checking out the shells and this crazy paparazzi followed every one of his footsteps. I think if I was in his position, I’d be the last person to keep calm. Sevda is absolutely sure that Kate Moss and her dog crossed our way on the beach, I am not… Later we had a great dinner at Colada’s Thai Cuisine that reminded us of our trip to Asia a few years ago. Great day!

It is colder than I expected, but who cares! So nice just to hang around and talk to strangers. Drinking Corona in our Mexican area. Everyone is really nice and not that american. Strange! Because if you asked me before, I thought L.A. would be really superficial. Haven’t seen this typical blond “supertit” woman jet.

Today was our first day in sunny California. We had a great breakfast at Starbucks and then took of to Venice beach. The place is beautiful and full of funny people. Of course all the heads on medical marihuana recognized my cherry tee by Parra. We also met a Möwe by Cleptomanicx, small world even here. Always good to bring Toast and Zitrone on a trip! So many impressions. Here are just a few…

Just arrived in LAX a few hours ago, picked up our rental-car and checked in at hour hotel just 5 miles away from the airport in the heart of Inglewood. A really nice place with great flava, almost a bit like on “My Name is Earl”. Drove around to get some stuff to drink and used the possibility to do some late night sightseeing. Drove down south-east, crossed Crenshaw and got closer to Watts as someone nearly got shot right infront of our car. We thought it was about that time to get back to the hotel. That showed us that our hotel is not as ghetto as we thought in the beginning so now we enjoy a cold beer by the pool ready to get that sleep we deserve! We have been up and running for 28 hours. Good Night!

Since we are having a lot of readers that are not from Sweden or Germany, this wishlist is all about my favorite swedish shop “Weekday“. “Weekday” belongs to “H&M” like “Cos“, “Monki” and “Cheap Monday“. Whenever I go into “Weekday” I come out with something. No wonder, it is clean and classic, oversized and blank swedish design. I love those items. If you don’t know “Weekday” yet you should risk a look. For the ones who know it, they have a new nice looking website.
Everyone who has been following this blog for a while knows that I’m kind of a nailpolish addict. It’s been a while but here is my new one. A good friend of mine knows about my addiction not being able to pass a good polish without buying it. She gave me this one from “Essie” as a late X-Mas present. What should I say? She couldn’t have done it better. Great choice, honey!
Wrong, wrong, wrong, rewind please! Why did I made this stop at “Zara“? Normaly I don’t cross it, but it just happend this time. Shit! I crossed those shoes and I’m totally in love. What I didn’t expect was that you can walk in them really well. Ahhhh, I need to save my money for L.A.. Shit……..
I’m sure it was a bit too much Sons of Anarchy, Weeds, Dexter and Californacation as well as NWA, Ice Cube, Stonesthrow, Beatjunkies, The Pharcyde etc. The list could be endless… We are going on a trip to Los Angeles next week. The plan is that there is no plan and live from day to day. No hotel is booked. No route is planned. Ok, we know we have to go to “Wasteland” and “Fatbeats” but what else do we need to see? Do you have some tips? May be you know a good and cheap car rental service, a good hotel, a nice cozy restaurant or just a good spot to be. It would be great if you’d share your knowledge with us!
Super woman Chloe Sevigny good looking as always on the ELLE UK Cover in April. That we all love her is no secret no more. No wonder that we love her so much when you see how sympathetic she is in the “Behind the Cover Video“. So cool to see that she is still doing it her way after so many years working in this business. HUT AB!
Now it is offical, I have a new hobby! I love digging vintage. I go crazy when I see such nice stylings like “Spanish Moss Vintage” is doing! I’m in love with all of those stlyes.
Today’s favorite is this oversized ruffle dress that I saw on “Pixiemarket“. It is “My Pets Square“. Do you remember? I wrote about them a while ago and showed the lookbook. Anyway, I really like it.
Like in summer last year, we took the car and drove around a bit. Outside of Stockholm it is still real winter. May be that was the reason that nobody was around.
There is a colourful place not far away from here called “V-Store” in Copenhagen. I wish I could be there, because all those colors make me happy and it feels like summer. Grandmaster Hendrik Vibskov knows how it works!
“Hellz Bellz“, one of the nicest streetwear brands for ladies just launched it’s lookbook for this spring. I’m just a picture lover. If you take a nice looking photos, I will be your fan. For sure. Like this one! Go for it! And then don’t forget to send me this dress with this fantastic back and the kind of leo looking pattern skirt!
.. because it’s eBay time! I’m totaly in love with these grunge pieces from “Rock Paper“. The color striped pullover is sooo cool and reminds me that I have to hear more Sonic Youth the next days. May be “Rock Paper” stole this pullover out of Kim Gordons closet. Rock Paper Vintage is also having a Blog under http://rockpapervintage.blogspot.com/.
Oh, those people in the “Sophomore Lookbook” are in my age!!! Yeaappieee! I’m still a target group. May be because of the products being a bit more expensive. I love those pictures and the felling. In 2 weeks I will feel the same: L.A. we are coming!
I hope you all gonna have a good start today! Only one day left and then WEEKEND!

LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE
Such a nice Lookbook, Urban Outfitters, I love those pictures.
Yesterday, “Minimarket” presented their video lookbook on “Rodeo“. I like this trend to show a video instead of only using pictures!

The first time in 3 months with more than -5!!!!! I love it and hope it will be like this for a while.
(Coat – CTRL, Zipper – AA, Cardigan – Motel, Short – Weekday, Shirt – Urban Outfitter, Scarf – Cheap Monday, Shoes – Underground)
It is still cold like -10, but the sun is coming up a bit. That’s so nice! I thought the winter would stay forever. It was a bit like “The day after tomorrow”. But we see a light at the end of the tunnel!
I know, we are not the best bloggers at the moment as Teresa recorgnized. I will post some this weekend, that’s for sure. But it’s friday again and may be we should pick up a new friday tradition. How about eBay-Friday? We will see. This friday, it is “Maki Maki Day“.
Favorite swedish cutie monster “Monki” shows its interpretation of spring in the sweatest way. Even Philipp said that this is really cute. So, now we know! Stripes, nude tones, pastell and nylon can’t be wrong this year. Thank you for this so nice and cute demonstration! We love you “Monki“. You are huge, but still kind of independent.
Miss swedish designer-queen “Carin Wester” is launching her SS210 those days. This time I have an eye on the shoes. They look like the “Opening Ceremony shoes“. Doesn’t matter to me, they both look nice and the clothes!? Clean and nice cuts like allways! She can’t do it wrong. I don’t think that’s possible.
“Motel” is one of the brands I always have an eye on. They come up with new stuff really often, sometimes a few times a season. Maybe you know “Motel” from “Asos” or “Topshop“. The last months they get more and more popular in the states as well. I think that’s the reason why they produced such a nice lookbook. I hope it works! Cross the fingers for them! EDIT: If you wish to order anything on the “Motel Webshop“, use the discount code “youneak” and get 15% off! Thank you, Motel!
Well, there are not many labels that I find interesting over a longer period. Most just come up with strange stuff loosing their original spirit trying to find ways to make it in the business. Mishka though is a small label that appears to have found its niche. Check out their new collection at Monkeybizz. I still wonder why they haven’t found their way to Germany yet, or have they?

Okay okay, I see you also like digging at eBay. The stats of the eBay postings told me this little secret. Then let me indroduce my favorite new eBayer “Meat Market“. I’m so in love with this polka dot dress and the Chanel two-tone sunglases. OHHH I LOVE THEM!!!!! But ok, back to “Meat Market“. Great styling and some really nice items. You can follow them on “Facebook“, “Twitter” and “Myspace“. Tzzzz all those social media things. I’m getting old. Meat Market, where is your blog!?
I don’t know what it is, but there is something that makes me stare at those two peaces of the pre-spring collection from “Horn van Bö“. The two designers Sara van Bö und Jörn Horn say something about understatement on their website. Yeah, may be that is what I like about those two items: Understatement with loads of small details.
